Caregiving Training - Skills and Knowledge

​To ensure that our caregivers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, we provide refresher caregiver training to our caregivers before their deployments (if required)

• These courses are conducted by our in-house Senior Staff Nurses who are experienced nurse practitioners.
• Topics covered include basic understanding of human body, common diseases of the elderly, managing the health of our elderly, safe practices and procedures, understanding aging and diseases and its effects on the physical and mental well being of patients.

The objectives of the training include:

• ​Learn professionalism in caregiving
• Understand the science behind safe and professional caregiving techniques and procedures
• Acquire the art of effective communication with the elderly
• Learn theory and practical hands on sessions in the classroom

Our caregivers will learn: 

• How to deliver high quality bedside nursing care to patients who need help with their Activities of Daily Living
• Know more about diseases and medical conditions like Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, Diabetes, High Blood pressure and other common diseases of the elderly
• Learn best practices for delivering care safely and professionally
• Build rapport and communicate better with their patients
• Learn specific nursing procedures like NGT Tube feeding, suppository use, IDC care  ​​

Continuous Training

After placement, we periodically organise training sessions for our caregivers:

• To refesher their skills and knowledge on specific medical conditions
• Optional home visits by our nursing team to observe and advise on care delivery
• Access to new skills training as care needs evolve
• Support and guidance via our helpline for care-related questions

​For candidates who are interested to become Caregivers or Eldercare Helpers but have limited or no knowledge:

• Foreign Domestic Helpers (FDW) 
• Candidates who are looking for new Employers
• Passionate in the care of the Elderly
• Interested in the learning of new knowledge and skills

We partner with Age Well Academy which provide courses such as:

• Essential Care Giving
• Dementia Care
• Palliative Care

The training consists:

• Several sessions over a few Sundays
• Covers the important aspects of care giving of the elderly
